Morrisville 18-wheeler accident attorney

Morrisville 18-wheeler accident attorney John M. Kenney has successfully settled or brought to court many cases involving automobiles and large 18-wheelers. If you have been injured or have had a loved one killed in a motor vehicle accident involving an 18-wheeler or any other type of vehicle, please call Morrisville 18-wheeler accident attorney John M. Kenney today.

Everyone that has driven on an interstate or a multilane highway has faced an 18-wheeler driving far in excess of the posted speed limits. No matter what lane you are in we all have had an 18-wheeler pull up dangerously close and flash their high beams at us commanding that we move over. It seems that they are bullying the smaller vehicles and have no regard as to our safety and the safety of our families as we travel in our automobiles. 18-wheeler drivers feel a sense of power and drive as if the own the road. As a matter of fact, economics notwithstanding, there probably isn’t a driver around that wouldn’t ban 18-wheelers from the highway if they had the option to do so.

Speeding is a leading cause of 18-wheeler crashes just like it is in all motor vehicle accidents. Speeding can exacerbate other forms of driver negligence such as driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, texting and other distracted driving behavior and driving drowsy. When an 18-wheeler driver speeds the likelihood of being involved in an 18-wheeler accident increases as does the severity of the injuries and the likelihood of passenger car occupant deaths.

This will all change once Electronic Logging Devices are made mandatory nationally on all 18-wheelers. These devices will log the average speeds of 18-wheelers and report speeding violators directly to the authorities. Why go through the machinations of the police/18-wheeler cat and mouse game of having to catch these highway predators personally? Doing so electronically would help prevent hundreds of thousands of serious injuries and thousands of 18-wheeler caused deaths every year.
